The Department of Circular Economy and Ecoembes are carrying out ongoing awareness-raising efforts regarding the proper management of waste produced at the weekly market.

This initiative, which will run for several weeks, aims to understand the needs of market stalls and provide information on existing methods for managing the waste generated weekly.

The City Council, in collaboration with Ecoembes, has launched this information and advisory campaign. The campaign consists of a shop-by-shop visit by an environmental monitor who informs each shopkeeper about how to proceed when handing in the waste they generate during their commercial activities. The information provided is that contained in the Municipal Ordinance on Street Cleaning and Household Waste Management, and addresses the obligation to clean and separate the waste generated for proper management and recycling.
