Municipal sources indicate that work began on the Social Welfare Center on Monday, June 12, with the goal of relocating the care spaces of the Center for Victims of Gender-Based Violence (CAVI).

The women who receive care at this service, as well as their children, are particularly vulnerable and therefore have specific privacy needs. Accessing these services and having a more private space prevents victims from having accidental encounters with their abusers.

"Therefore, these works are another measure of protection for these women who have suffered assault and their children, who sometimes also seek out specific services provided at this center." These works are the result of collaboration between the Department of Women and Equality and the Department of Employment, which, through the Local Public Employment Program, is carrying out the work. "This is another example of coordination between City Hall services to achieve common goals," the statement concludes.
