For more than a decade, the Atalaya-Ateneo de la Villa de Cieza cultural association has been organizing "Republican Days" every April, coinciding with the anniversary of the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, to honor the memory of one of the most important democratic periods in the history of Spain.
In fact, this "Republican Week" has become an unmissable event for those Ciezans who wish to remember and pay tribute to those who, with their work, contributed to the development of the Second Republic and were later repressed by the Franco regime.
Numerous activities have been held over the years to commemorate these Republican Days, and numerous personalities associated with the recovery of Democratic Memory have participated. True to its purpose, the Atalaya-Ateneo de la Villa Club is preparing to celebrate the anniversary of that event this year as well.
