The 2nd AtalaJazz Mágiko Festival will be held on August 6, 7, and 8 in the courtyard of the Atalaya-Ateneo de la Vila de Cieza sociocultural association. Three consecutive nights of jazz concerts will fill the cultural void of August in Cieza with chords, rhythms, and beats.

The band Dixieland Train will open the festival on Wednesday the 6th with a pre-concert parade to fill the streets of Cieza with rhythm and invite residents to board the New Orleans music train and enjoy their adaptations of classics and modern music brought to the sounds of the early 20th century. A formation of 7 musicians with a 4-wind section, David Cano (saxophone), Diego Molina (tuba), Carlos Lozano (trombone), Javier Cano (trumpet), Diego Nicolás (lead banjo), Juan José (banjo) and Antonio Gutiérrez (washboard) on percussion, make up this lively street band that will offer a repertoire and sound of authentic roots music.

KatJazz will be the group that will star on Thursday night, the 7th.

Following the format of the first edition of the festival, KatJazz will be the headline act on Thursday night, the 7th, with vocalist Katja Knaus. The band presents a classic repertoire with a modern touch of jazz, swing, blues, funk, and even the occasional bolero. It is comprised of a cast of top-level jazz musicians from the Murcia music scene: Pepe Pérez (saxophone/piano), Jesús Gea (double bass), Carmen Climent (piano), and Andrés Lafuente (drums). The unique voice of Katja Knaus, a jazz singer of German-Russian origin, along with dizzying rhythms, a devastating swing, the warm sounds of the saxophone, and the mysterious intimacy of the double bass will be the stars of the second night of the festival.

The festival closes on Friday the 8th with the band Southern Jazz Circles, a group of musicians with close artistic ties, mostly from the Valencian and Murcian scenes. A core trio consisting of Cieza-born Pedro Rodríguez (piano), Antonio Peñalver (double bass), and Pablo Egío (drums), they will be joined by several guest musicians as if it were a jam session, bringing tonal richness and new dynamics to the live performances, performing a repertoire that ranges from traditional jazz standards to songs influenced by Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music. The guest artists for this concert are Camila Eirín (alto sax), Pepe Navarro (tenor sax), Joan Fernández (trombone), and Cieza-born singer Celia Aroca.

All concerts will begin at 10:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Atalaya Club, a space where the music and social commitment of the organizing group will converge with an exhibition entitled "Palestine in the Heart."

Advance ticket sales for collaborations and passes are now available through the Vivetix platform and also at the Atalaya Club during the afternoon (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM) Monday through Friday.
