Most of the Cieza City Council's governing team, led by Mayor Tomás Rubio, attended the 1st Training Sessions for Local Public Officials of the Region of Murcia held in the capital of the Autonomous Community on Wednesday and Thursday.
The UMU Chair of Public Policy has organized these training sessions for local public officials in the Region of Murcia. The goal is to provide them with tools and knowledge in areas of interest to their work, such as budget management, public policies, social media management, the organization and operation of local entities, participation mechanisms, European funds, and the urban agenda, among other highly relevant and topical issues. The sessions featured experts in each of these fields.
The regional government has highlighted the "importance of creating spaces for knowledge transfer between academia and local public administrators."
The session, organized in collaboration with the regional government and the LABCOM Transfer Group, was attended by 17 leading regional and national experts and more than 85 local public administrators. It provided a platform for sharing experiences, knowledge, and best practices among the various municipalities in the region, as well as learning from the academics and professionals who led the workshops.
This training program is part of the agreement between the Ministry of the Presidency and the University of Murcia, which created the Chair of Public Policy and a Public Policy Observatory, as a space for study and research to help understand the concerns, evaluation, and perceptions of public policies among citizens.
