The Los Albares Secondary School presents a pioneering initiative in the area: the first regional school theater festival.
Supported by the Cieza City Council, through its Departments of Culture and Education, the plays participating in this first edition, from educational centers in Murcia, Cartagena, Los Garres, and Cieza, will be performed at the Capitol Theater in Cieza between October 30 and November 2.
The afternoon performances are open to the general public, and invitations can be picked up at the center during the morning and afternoon hours, until capacity is reached.
The schedule and information on the works are as follows:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 30
1. This will not be just any summer,
Juan Sebastián Elcano High School in Cartagena.
Theatrical narration with musical dance numbers.
Synopsis: Some kids tell their experiences after finishing school and starting summer: friendship, rivalry, summer loves, youth experiences; everything is resolved with music in between.
Duration: 45 MIN

2. The beating of the minimal flesh
Dramatic Arts School of Murcia.
Adaptation and musical version of The Butterfly's Curse, Federico García Lorca's first staged play.
It tells the story of a simple and tragic love. In a meadow inhabited by insects, a butterfly falls from the sky, disrupting the established order.
Aimed at high school students and the general public, including adults; admission by invitation only.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31
3. The Midnight Library.
Produced by the teachers of the Language Department, it was performed by more than twenty students from the Isaac Peral High School in Cartagena.
Synopsis: Nuria, a girl tired of life and with dashed dreams, one day reaches her limit and makes a difficult decision. There is a library, a place between life and death. There is a portal. A key that opens the door to other lives.
Thoughtful and moving work about the value of life.
Directed at 1st year of high school.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2
4. To the rhythm of caresses.
By the Percuseve theater group, from the Severo Ochoa de los Garres center in Murcia
SYNOPSIS: A tribute to grandparents, this is a musical of our own making. A musical that revolves around the relationship between grandchildren and grandparents, touching on topics such as education, technology, social media, traditions, illness, farewell, even grief and memories.
Grandparents of students and cultural associations of senior theater will be invited.
