The Cieza City Council's governing team has announced that a gastronomic fair will be held this year as part of the Flowering program.

This fair will have a different name than in previous years, because the one used until now was registered with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office by an individual on August 29, 2023, and the application is currently being processed by said agency.

The aforementioned municipal sources explain that "this name is closely linked to Cieza and the gastronomic fair that has been held in Floración in previous years, and in which the Cieza City Council has invested a significant amount of money to establish a prominent place within the regional gastronomic scene; proof of this is the amount of inventory bearing this name. The municipal budget of recent years, including the current one, has a budget program named after it, with funds set aside for this purpose."

The note adds that "this act, that of registering the name of an activity that the Cieza City Council has been carrying out, is not an isolated act, but rather forms part of a series of actions by certain groups that disagree with the governing team currently in charge of the City Council, and what they achieve with these actions is only harming the city of Cieza."

The local government believes, "and municipal advisors have advised us to do so, that we must not stand still and, therefore, we will take the appropriate legal action."
