The Brotherhood of Santa Verónica, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the Cieza City Council and the FAMU, is organizing the 12th San Silvestre "Ciudad de Cieza" Memorial Antonio S. Piñera López.

One of the most traditional end-of-year events in recent years, the San Silvestre "Ciudad de Cieza" Antonio S. Piñera López Memorial, was postponed last December. Although the organizers stated their intention to hold the event on dates other than the traditional 31st, they will fulfill their goal this coming Saturday.

This will offer the opportunity to experience an event that, in any case, will maintain its festive atmosphere, starting at 4:30 p.m. with the junior events and the full competition scheduled for 5:30 p.m., covering a distance of approximately 5.8 km, with the start and finish at Esquina del Convento. All of this is organized by the Brotherhood of Santa Verónica in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Cieza City Council and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.

Race numbers can be picked up this Thursday and Friday, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the old Atalaya Bookstore (opposite the Post Office), and on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the La Era Football Field. Please remember that you must show your ID or proof of identity to pick up your race numbers. For the senior race, trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, as well as a ham for the top finisher overall, both for men and women.

A ham will also be awarded to the best costume, while the best costumed group will receive a gift of wine, cheese, and a tray of sweets. First place in each category will receive a gift of traditional products, with wine and cheese for second place and Murciatonne for third place. Five dinners/lunches valued at €60 each will also be awarded to the five best costumed couples. All participants will receive a runner's bag.
