On the evening of Tuesday, February 14, we regret to announce the passing of Don Mariano Caballero, founder of the Piedras Vivas Association, who, after spending his final days with serious problems due to an infection from which he unfortunately has not been able to recover, from here we send our thoughts to heaven for all the good you did and leave among us.
We share with you the OFFICIAL STATEMENT from the PIEDRAS VIVAS ASSOCIATION:
From a heartbroken but hopeful heart, we want to thank God for his life. A life that always exuded character, strength, vitality, closeness, joy, empathy, leadership... Wherever he went, he never went unnoticed. He was like a magnet that attracted others. He loved them and was loved. From this Association, your Association, the one you worked so hard to create, we thank God for having shared these years together, fighting side by side, so that this soup kitchen could become a reality in your town.
A song says: “When grief overtakes us for a lost brother, when the painful farewell seeks hope in faith. We trust in your word, certain that you have already brought him back to life, already brought him to the light.”
The sorrow, the tears, and the pain have reached us fully, they have reached the depths of our hearts. Part of our lives goes with him, but we are comforted by the faith and hope that he continues to live; living alongside the Father and living with us in memory, in affection, and in love.
May our Holy Christ, whom you missed no novena, and our Mary, the Virgin of Good Success from her beautiful Watchtower, where so many times you raised your gaze and the prayers of your heart, welcome you, take you before her Son Jesus and intercede for us all.
