The 29th Segura River International Folklore Festival, organized annually by the Cieza Choir and Dance Group, will take place on August 18, 19, and 20.
The gala, featuring performances by the participating groups, can be enjoyed on Saturday, August 19th, at 10:00 PM, in the Gabriel Celaya Auditorium. Tickets are €6 for adults (advance sale) and €3 for children ages 5 to 10.
This year's International Folklore Festival in Segura will feature the Mexican Folk Dance Company from Mexico, the Qhaswa Cultural Association from Peru, the Katalyk Folkdance Ensemble from the Republic of Yakutia, the La Esteva Dance Group Cultural Association from Segovia representing Spain, and, of course, our Choir and Dance Group from Cieza.
As important notes, the festival poster was designed by Cieza native Vanessa Rojas, and the festival session will be broadcast on regional television channel 7 Región de Murcia.
Friday 18th:
12:00 PM, official reception at Cieza Town Hall for all participating groups.
10:00 PM "Folklore Nights" in Plaza de España will feature a performance by the Peruvian group.
In the afternoon, the La Esteva Dance Group Cultural Association from Segovia will perform at the Mariano Marín Blázquez residence. The day will conclude with the installation "Flea Market of the Peoples of the World" at the corner of the Convent.
Saturday 19th:
Parade of all participating groups from the Diego Tortosa Secondary School to the Esquina del Convento, where the flags of each participating country will be raised in tribute to their nations.
After that, the parade will continue to the Gabriel Celaya Auditorium where the festival will begin at 10:00 p.m.
Sunday 20th:
At 6:30 p.m., dance groups from Mexico and Peru will perform at the Vega-Lorenzo Guirao Hospital and the Mariano Marín Blázquez Residence.
