The talk, organized by Podemos Cieza, featured Emilio Ballester Fernández (President of the Sustainable Development Foundation), who explained and answered questions posed by attendees about private and collective solar installations.
The topic discussed in the talk sparked the curiosity of the many residents of Cieza who attended the event organized by Podemos Cieza.
The speaker clearly explained how to interpret the electricity bill, "that great unknown." He provided the keys to reducing both the fixed and variable portions, thus maximizing household savings. He explained the taxes we all pay, both to the state and to the electricity companies, their function and purpose, a point that greatly surprised the audience due to their lack of understanding of how much, why, and to whom we are paying all the electricity companies on our bills, aside from our consumption.
Another point that generated great interest was the talk itself: how can we cut our electricity bills with the help of solar energy? The key points of the various solar installations available to the public were explained: their capacity, costs, payback periods, and available financing sources. The Sustainable Development Foundation also explained the free consulting services offered by the Foundation, which include a report and approximate estimate of the cost of an installation that would allow a home to become energy self-sufficient. The foundation's website specifically for this purpose is http://www.cortaloscables.com.
At Podemos Cieza, we are pleased with the positive reception of this activity, as the principles of our organization are to make available to everyone the resources, information, and solutions that help our residents in their daily lives.
As announced during the talk, this activity was the first in a series designed by the Culture and Education Secretariat of Podemos Cieza with the goal of continuing to create a fair, sustainable society in which everyone has equal educational and information opportunities.
The general secretary of the purple party personally thanked both Emilio Ballester and the residents of Cieza who attended and actively participated in the conference, urging attendees to continue contributing and participating in upcoming activities, which will be announced shortly.
