The detainee ignored the officers' 'stop' signal and fled at a checkpoint established by the Cieza Local Police and the Civil Guard.

He is alleged to be responsible for the crime of resistance and disobedience to agents of the authority.

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of Cieza, has arrested a resident of the town of Cieza, as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of resistance and disobedience to agents of the authority, after skipping a citizen mobility checkpoint established in the municipality, under Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, which declares the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19.

The operation took place within the framework of the police operations established jointly by the Civil Guard and the Cieza Local Police to enforce the established measures.

At one of the citizen mobility checkpoints set up in the Plaza de las Cortes Españolas in the urban center of Cieza, officers stopped a car driver who ignored the authorities' instructions and evaded the police checkpoint.

Immediately, one of the patrol cars began following the vehicle and intercepted it. At that point, the driver got out of the car and fled. He struggled with one of the officers to escape and continued his escape on foot until he was arrested a few meters later.

The Civil Guard inspected the vehicle and the streets where the suspect had tried to flee until they located two plastic wrappers containing 25 doses of cocaine and one gram of marijuana.

The police operation culminated in the arrest of the 38-year-old man from Cieza, suspected of resisting and disobeying law enforcement officers. He has been brought before the Cieza (Murcia) Court of First Instance, along with the investigation.
