The Regional Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, met this morning with the Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the Director of the Tax Agency, Isaac Sanz, to discuss the Regional Ministry's collaboration and support for the City Council in delegating the management of municipal taxes to the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia (ATRM). This could include executive collection and management and settlement powers.
The Cieza City Council would thus join the tax agreement the Community maintains with 32 municipalities, which contributes to optimizing its management and offering the best services to citizens.
The Minister of Finance emphasized that "the regional government is providing municipalities with material, human, and financial resources to improve municipal tax management and collection and support local government."
The regional government offers the management of municipal taxes, which represents cost savings for municipalities and provides them with specialized technical staff. Furthermore, this system allows citizens to access a personalized payment plan, offering interest-free payment deferrals for up to 12 months.
Among the main taxes delegated by local councils are the Real Estate Tax (IBI), the Economic Activities Tax (IAE), and the Motor Vehicle Tax (IVTM), among others.
The ATRM currently has a network of 29 offices throughout the Region, providing comprehensive tax services. Residents can complete their tax transactions at any ATRM office, just as they would in their home municipality.
In addition, the Agency is making its Virtual Office available to municipalities and taxpayers, allowing them to complete online transactions such as online payments, deferrals, installment payments, and information requests, among others.
