From the Socialist Party of Cieza, we received a press release stating that "work is being done to implement a productive model in our municipality that will eliminate seasonal employment. This means that employment is not limited solely to agriculture, highlighting its value, as it is one of Cieza's main sources of income."

Pig farms do not contribute to the deseasonalization of employment; in fact, thanks to technological advances, hardly any people are needed to run them.

Farms, therefore, destabilize the natural conditions and the environment where they are located. They produce large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, while the strong odor emanating from the concentration of pigs in one place makes life difficult in the surrounding area.

The solution is relatively simple: our current Urban Development Plan is outdated, and we need to modify it to align with the new objectives our municipality is pursuing. We must respect our landscapes for several reasons, including stabilizing ecosystems, respecting the environment, and ensuring comfortable living conditions for residents who choose to live there. But also because it can be a window into tourism and promoting our municipality to make it better.

The Socialist Party supports all business initiatives; in fact, the government is taking various actions to facilitate procedures and establish new initiatives in our municipality. However, respect for the environment, as well as for our countryside and agriculture, is fundamental.
