The Department of Culture has announced the 1st Cieza City Short Story Competition, with the aim of promoting creative writing.

All writers born or residing in Cieza are eligible to participate in the contest. The works must be in Spanish, unpublished, on a free theme, and not awarded prizes in other competitions. All entries must begin with a text written by the writer Jerónimo Tristante during his visit to the 2nd Regional Children's and Young Adult Book Fair held a few days ago in Cieza. The text is included in the rules.

The deadline for submitting originals is September 30th of this year, and they must be delivered to the Department of Culture at the Capitol Theater.

Unselected entries will not be returned and will be destroyed once all phases of the competition have concluded.

The prize will consist of a book publication containing all the selected stories.
