The last Local Sports Council approved subsidies for sports clubs, scholarships for individual athletes, the expansion of tax breaks for the municipal swimming pool for various groups, and renovation projects for various facilities.
The Socialist Party of Cieza is pleased that virtually all clubs support the subsidies for sports organizations in Cieza. The Socialist Mayor of Cieza and his team presented the guidelines and criteria at the meeting held at the Local Sports Council a few days ago. The subsidy criteria were discussed between the council and the club suggestions, adapting to the reality of sports in Cieza.
Another year since 2015 in which the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) continues to fulfill its electoral platform. €20,000 will help boost local sports, both in schools and in competitions.
At the same meeting, the Local Sports Council also presented updates to the Tax Ordinance affecting the Heated Swimming Pool and its services. The ordinance includes improvements for retirees, federations, and others who see reduced fees for using the heated facilities. In addition, information was provided on legal issues related to sporting events and the current status of construction work on sports facilities.
Another important new development at the meeting was the €5,000 scholarship program for individual sports. Talent and discipline will be strengthened with municipal aid. The negative note from the Council Meeting is the politicization that certain parties are attempting to create. The work of the council does not replace good proposals that revitalize and strengthen local sports.
Socialist sources affirm that we must continue working on initiatives that improve local sports. The following initiatives will serve to improve and expand the spaces designated for sports.
