The Councillor for Senior Citizens of the Cieza City Council, Amparo Pino, and the director of the Social Centre for Senior Citizens dependent on IMAS, Francisca Sánchez, presented the Golden Weeks 2023 this Wednesday.
This is a set of activities aimed at this group of people, primarily users of the aforementioned center, as well as those of the Las Morericas Municipal Senior Center.
The program includes various recreational and cultural activities that will take place during the months of October and November.
GOLDEN WEEKS PROGRAM 2023
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1, 4:00 PM. Dance and family lottery. Location: Senior Citizens Center (IMAS). Start of a sociocultural trip until October 6, to the interior of Andalusia, visiting Cazorla and its natural park, Jaén, Úbeda, Baeza, Linares and Alcaraz. 54 places.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8, 4:00 PM. Dance and family lottery. Location: Senior Citizens Center (IMAS).
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 4:00 PM. Dance and family lottery. Location: Social center for senior citizens (IMAS).
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17: 11:00 a.m. Sociocultural outing to the Archena Spa. Departure from Plaza de Las Cortes Españolas. Registration at the Morericas Municipal Senior Citizens Center starting Wednesday, October 4. Price €28.00, limited places available.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 6 p.m. Popular film evening. Venue: Aurelio Guirao Auditorium. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
Thursday, October 19, 10:30 a.m. Walk Fitness Dance session along the riverfront promenade followed by a communal lunch. Departure: La Era football field. Information and registration at the Morericas Municipal Senior Citizens Center, from October 9 to 13. Price: €5. Limited spaces available.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 5:00 PM. Flamenco dance master class at the Senior Citizens Center (IMAS), led by instructor Ana Martínez López. Information and registration at the Center, from October 9 to 20 at the reception desk.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25: SENIOR OLYMPICS: Information and registration at the Morericas Senior Center and the IMAS Senior Center, from October 9 to 20. Time and place: 9:00 a.m. at the IMAS Senior Center, for billiards, petanque, and table tennis. 10:00 a.m. at the Morericas Senior Center, for parcheesi and dominoes. Awards ceremony on November 7 at the "Solidarity with Seniors" Golden Weeks Closing Gala, at the Capitol Theater, during the event. 5:30 p.m. An afternoon of theater featuring the plays “El Bulto negro” and “Una tienda de pueblo,” short farces by José Cedena, performed by the theater group of the Jumilla Senior Citizens' Social Center (IMAS), at the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium. Tickets can be picked up at either center starting October 9th and until capacity is reached.

Information and registration at the Center from October 9 to 20. 5:00 p.m. 15th Anniversary of the “Las Morericas” Municipal Senior Citizens Center. Talk: “Knowing How to Age” - coffee and pastries for attendees. Limited spaces: Registration at the “Las Morericas” Senior Citizens Center. 5:00 p.m. Master class on Social Media Management at the Senior Citizens Center (IMAS), led by instructor María José Hernández Cano. Information and registration at the Center. Participants must have a smartphone and have Facebook and Instagram installed.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29, 4:00 PM. Dance and family lottery. Location: Social center for senior citizens (IMAS).
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 5:30 PM. Closing Gala of the Golden Weeks “Solidarity for Seniors” and presentation of the “Senior of the Year 2023” award. A €2 donation is requested to benefit the Cieza Association for Cooperation, Development, and Humanitarian Action “Mama Wa Watoto.” Performances will be given by the theater and dance groups from the Morericas Senior Center and the choir and Sevillanas groups from the Social Center for Seniors (IMAS). During the event, trophies will be awarded to the participants of the Senior Olympics. Tickets can be picked up at either center starting October 16 and will be available until capacity is reached. From October 15 to November 7, the Painting and Photography exhibition by users of the Social Center for Seniors (IMAS) will be on display.
