For the second year in a row, José María Cámara Salmerón from Cieza won first prize in the “Cieza Holy Week 2021” Photography Contest with the image '2009 Coronation', in a very peculiar event due to the pandemic that is currently ravaging us.
After a decidedly different event, as it was broadcast online due to Covid-19, the photograph '2009 Coronation', taken by José María Cámara Salmerón, was finally chosen for the XXXIII edition to announce the poster for Holy Week in Cieza in 2021, a prize endowed with five hundred euros.
The second prize, worth three hundred euros, went to photographer Rafel J. Gabaldón Marín with his snapshot 'The Way of the Cross Begins', which will illustrate the cover of the Guide to Events of Holy Week 2021.
Finally, the third prize, worth two hundred euros, went to Pedro Sánchez Morcillo and his photograph 'A Bitter Look', which will be the cover of the poster announcing the events of the 2021 Proclamation.
The competition results were announced at 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 14th, at the Holy Week Museum in Cieza. For various reasons, but primarily out of social responsibility, the Board of Passion Brotherhoods held the event online, streaming it on both their Facebook page and Instagram account. During the event, two videos were presented: the first showcasing all submitted photos, and the second featuring the 12 finalists. Before the jury's decision was read, it was announced that the winners of this 33rd competition would be contacted as soon as the health situation allows for the awards ceremony.
From these lines, the Board of Brotherhoods expresses its gratitude to all the sponsors who made this event possible, as it marks the beginning of the upcoming Holy Week. Special thanks are extended to Promociones Atlantis, Materiales de Construcción Cano, Frutas Paco Cid “la valerosa”, Estaciones de Servicio Benedicto, Construcciones José A Diaz Ruiz, Copesal, Congelados Concisa Camino de Murcia, Limpiezas Cieza, Frutas Antonio, Café Bar Estación de Autobuses, Suministros J Argudo “El Flapy”, General Automoción, Seguros Contreras y Piñera (Helvetia), Ic Asesores, Lacomur Estructuras, Recuperaciones Fernández, Tableros Andrés, and El Descuentazo.
In conclusion, the Board of Brotherhoods appeals to social responsibility, urging everyone to work together to reverse these harmful circumstances. It also sends its best wishes to all the economic and social drivers of Cieza, hoping that this situation will soon be overcome.
