The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has developed the operation 'Persiles', an investigation that has culminated in the dismantling of a criminal group, made up of 11 people, who have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs; and of fraud of electricity
More than 400 cannabis sativa plants, 50 grams of cocaine and 320 grams of marijuana buds ready for distribution have been seized, along with 14 phones, two computers, an air rifle and the equipment used for indoor marijuana cultivation.
The investigation began more than a year ago, when the Civil Guard was on the trail of a family clan, based in the municipality of Cieza, allegedly dedicated to the sale of narcotic substances.
The evidence obtained revealed that they operated several retail drug sales points where they offered marijuana, hashish, and cocaine. Furthermore, it was discovered that they had their own cannabis plantations, hidden in various residences, which served to continuously supply these sales points.
Collaboration with the Cieza City Council
With the support of the Cieza municipal corporation, the Civil Guard maintained surveillance and operational devices around the properties where the drugs were sold, which only served to confirm the continuous flow of customers.
In the other homes, investigators detected frequent drops in blood pressure and a strong smell of marijuana, which had generated complaints from neighbors and users of a nearby health center.
