The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has conducted an investigation in Cieza into the sale of spoiled food products at a bazaar in the municipality, which has resulted in the closure of the aforementioned business.

The investigation began thanks to citizen collaboration when the Civil Guard was alerted to the unsanitary conditions at a commercial establishment located in the municipality of Cieza, which sold, among other things, food products.

The inspection carried out by the Civil Guard revealed numerous irregularities in food safety and public health matters, and the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community was informed.

The administrative authority has decreed the provisional cessation of commercial activity, immobilizing all food products for sale.

Expired food, poor product storage conditions, and general unsanitary conditions were found in the bazaar.

The Civil Guard has initiated proceedings for possible criminal liability.
