The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has carried out an investigation to clarify a robbery with violence and intimidation committed against a resident of Cieza, which has resulted, a few hours later, in the identification, location, arrest and subsequent judicial appointment of the two alleged perpetrators of the events.
The events took place in the early hours of the morning, when a citizen...He was in the vicinity of a public establishment in Cieza. Apparently, two young men began to confront him, first with insults and then with threats, until an argument broke out.
It was then that one of the perpetrators punched him hard in the face while the other intimidated him with a glass bottle, until finally and violently they stole the cash that the victim had collected the day before for his work in the field, as well as several personal belongings.
By the time the victim recovered from the blows received during the robbery, the alleged perpetrators had already fled the scene, and the victim required medical assistance for the injuries suffered.
After a report was filed regarding the theft, officers from the Citizen Security Prevention unit of the Civil Guard began the corresponding investigation to verify the facts and, if necessary, clarify them.
The initial investigations focused on gathering all possible evidence about the commission of the crime and the identity of its perpetrators.
As a result of the investigation, the Civil Guard was able to confirm that behind the robbery with violence and intimidation were two young men who did not reside in the town, but were seasonal workers who travel from other municipalities and provinces due to the start of the fruit harvesting campaign.
The investigators then carried out a search operation on the suspects in the places frequented by the seasonal workers, which culminated in their location in a warehouse on the outskirts of the municipality of Cieza, where they were arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of robbery with violence and intimidation.
The swift action of the Civil Guard has allowed them to clarify the facts, as well as locate and arrest the alleged perpetrators, about eight hours after the crime was committed, thus concluding the investigation.
The detainees – Moroccans, aged 23 and 27, residents of Alicante and with prior convictions for similar crimes – along with the proceedings carried out, have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Cieza.
