The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has conducted an investigation to investigate the theft of several pieces of jewelry, valued at €11,000, from a home in Cieza. This investigation has resulted in the arrest of a woman suspected of theft and fraud.
The investigation began when a resident of the municipality of Cieza reported to the Civil Guard the disappearance of numerous pieces of jewelry from her home, which apparently had not been stolen in any way.
The detainee was working as a domestic worker at the victim's home.
From that moment on, Civil Guard investigators gathered details of each of the missing pieces of jewelry from the home, learning that they were bracelets, rings, and chains, mostly gold, valued at 11,000 euros.
The Civil Guard carried out a series of inspections at gold buying and selling establishments, which led them to discover that the pieces had been sold some time ago in a store in Cieza.
The jewels were sold at a gold dealership in Cieza.
The jewels were listed in the establishment's Register Book, although, due to the time elapsed since their sale, they had already been melted down, so they could not be recovered.
The Civil Guard identified the saleswoman who, coincidentally, had worked at the complainant's home as a domestic employee.
The investigation has concluded with the arrest of the suspect, who is believed to be responsible for the theft and fraud.
The detainee and the proceedings were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 4 of Cieza (Murcia).
