The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has conducted an investigation in Cieza, as part of the "Safe Commerce Plan," to investigate several thefts committed in public establishments. This investigation has culminated in the identification, location, and arrest of the alleged perpetrator for the crime of theft.

During the investigation, the Civil Guard recovered some of the stolen items, in this case sunglasses, and solved four crimes committed in businesses in the Cieza urban area, including two opticians and two supermarkets.

Citizen Security Prevention officers from the Benemérita (Benemérita) began the investigation at the end of last January, when the owners of several public establishments in Cieza filed complaints alleging theft of products from their businesses.

The Civil Guard verified the reported incidents and began an investigation to find the perpetrator and clarify the crimes. The first of these crimes took place at the end of January at a municipal optician's shop. The perpetrator took advantage of an employee's inattention while undergoing an eye test and stole more than a dozen pairs of sunglasses.

The second and third crimes investigated also took place in the city of Cieza, in this case in supermarkets, where the now-detained man allegedly stole food and cosmetics.

The latest crime attributed to the now-detained man took place at another optician's in Cieza, where he also took advantage of an employee's carelessness to steal several pairs of sunglasses from the establishment.

The Civil Guard has been gathering all possible evidence for each of the reported crimes. They have conducted technical inspections and other investigations that have established the suspect's responsibility in at least four of the crimes. It has also been confirmed that he carried out surveillance of the establishments in order to determine the ideal time to act.

Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard launched a search for the suspect, which culminated in his location and arrest as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of theft.

During the arrest, Civil Guard investigators also found some of the sunglasses stolen from the opticians, which, after being brought to court, were returned to their owners.
