More than 500 doses of cocaine have been seized from the detainee.

He fled from a police checkpoint and drove at considerable risk to other road users.

A resident of the municipality has been arrested as a suspected perpetrator of drug trafficking, reckless driving, and assaulting law enforcement officers.

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, as part of the services established to ensure public safety, has carried out an operation in Cieza, which has led to the detection and interception of a cocaine shipment.

In one of the checkpoints carried out in the municipality of Cieza, the Civil Guard arrested the driver of a vehicle transporting more than 500 doses of cocaine, which were apparently destined for delivery to a regular dealer.

The incident occurred while Civil Guard Citizen Security Prevention officers were conducting a police check on one of the access roads to the urban center of Cieza, designed to identify people and inspect vehicles, with the aim of preserving public safety.

One of the vehicles approaching the identification point, upon detecting the presence of the Civil Guards, fled the scene at high speed. A patrol from the Civil Guard began following the fleeing vehicle to intercept it and attempt to stop the reckless driving it was engaged in.

Shortly after, on one of the streets in the urban center of Cieza, the Civil Guard managed to intercept the vehicle. Its driver attempted to flee several times and even struck members of the Benemérita patrol.

Finally, after considerable resistance, the Civil Guard arrested the driver of the vehicle. The Civil Guard officers found two bags containing a large quantity of cocaine, one near the scene of the arrest and another among the arrested man's belongings, the combined total of which exceeded 500 doses.

The detainee, the seized drugs, the confiscated items, and the investigations conducted have been handed over to the Cieza (Murcia) Court of Instruction.
