By supporting Camarillas, the Cieza train station is being kept operational and in use. Cieza residents won't have to travel to Murcia or other municipalities to catch an express train.
The Socialist Party of Cieza is announcing the new train route that will begin operating in September. The opening of the Camarillas station will allow the Cieza train station to remain open, with all the associated benefits. Passengers traveling to Cartagena or Madrid will still be able to board trains in Cieza.
Through the commitment to bring the AVE high-speed train underground to Murcia, Camarillas is taking action to offer an alternative for modernizing Murcia's infrastructure. This is good news for Cieza because our station, being an iconic landmark, is also a major passenger hub for the Vega Alta del Segura region.
If the Murcia-Madrid connection takes 3 hours and 20 minutes, slightly less than 20 minutes for the AVE high-speed train, Cieza and Madrid will be connected in approximately 3 hours. This will bring greater economic activity and could make us the gateway to southeastern Spain. Establishing Cieza as a key entry point will have economic repercussions and position Cieza as a magnet for new businesses.
The Socialists of Cieza continue to support the high-speed rail line (AVE), but this cannot be allowed to marginalize the local population. Camarillas presents an opportunity for Cieza, and in light of this news, we must continue working to foster further job and economic growth. "Infrastructure must unite, not divide," the Socialist leadership affirms.
