Aemet reports that a heat wave is beginning, which will affect Cieza between Friday and Sunday, with temperatures of 40°C, reaching 44°C in the shade on Saturday.

THE STATE METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY REPORTS:
1.- Meteorological phenomenon: Heat wave
2.- Geographical area: Much of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands
3.- Beginning of the situation: Thursday, July 30
4.- Duration: Until Saturday, August 1st
5.- Probability level: Very high (more than 80%)
6.- Description of the meteorological situation: The Peninsula and the Balearic Islands are under the
influence of a warm mass of African origin which, together with the strong and prolonged sunshine
typical of these dates, will lead to a heat wave situation in the coming days, with
maximum temperatures that will vary in spatial distribution depending on the dates
due to the slight changes in the weather conditions that may occur in recent days.
Tomorrow, Thursday 30th, temperatures will tend to rise in the Cantabrian coast
extraordinary and in the northeast half of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands in a notable way. In such a way that
Temperatures will reach 40 to 42 degrees in the eastern Cantabrian Sea, even at points close to the
Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia coasts. Temperatures will be around 42 degrees in the Ebro Valley in
Navarra and La Rioja. In the valleys of the southern peninsula, the temperature will reach 41°C in the Tagus and Guadiana rivers,
42 on the Guadalquivir. Elsewhere, including inland Mallorca, temperatures
temperatures will range between 37 and 39 degrees. Only the coastal areas will be spared from the heat wave.
On Friday and Saturday there will be a very significant drop in temperatures in the northern third,
somewhat less pronounced in the rest of the northern half; in the southern and eastern third of the peninsula it will occur
an increase, while in the rest they will remain with few changes. The temperatures
will probably exceed 40ºC in areas of the south and northeast of the peninsula, and 36-38ºC in the
rest of the southern half, eastern half, central area, Balearic Islands and points of the northern half during the
Friday.
Starting Sunday, August 2, the drop in temperatures is likely to extend.
