Continuing with the program of activities scheduled for the first quarter of the year by the Las Morericas Municipal Senior Citizens Center in Cieza, nearly 60 seniors participated in a guided tour of the flowering plants in the area of El Horno and Soto de la Zarzuela.

Municipal sources indicate that, "with the imminent arrival of spring, and thanks to our extraordinary microclimate and the artisanal hand of the farmers, the Cieza orchards appear sinuous, regular, fragrant like few others, and of unparalleled floral splendor. Cieza, our town, and its surroundings have an immense appeal, a special charm, the flowering of its fields and orchards, a natural phenomenon worthy of admiration and of showing to all citizens, which this year is far exceeding all expectations in terms of the variety of colors and beauty of the natural environment."

To follow the flowering route, the group traveled by bus to the Horno area, passing by the La Macetúa viewpoint and its surroundings. Once at the Horno, they visited the museum located there and took a walking tour. They also took a ride on the tourist train that Avennatura operates in this area to conveniently show everyone the area, which is in full bloom.

To conclude the morning, the group enjoyed a country-style lunch at the Horno soccer field.

On March 21st, continuing its leisure program, the Senior Center will host a day trip to Elche. More information at the Las Morericas Senior Center.
