From the General Subdirectorate of Forest Policy (DG Natural Environment) and in view of the activation of the Pre-emergency phase of the Platemur Plan due to the warning of adverse weather phenomena for the next few days, a Adverse Weather Situation Bulletin, due to high temperatures, wind and dry storms lasting 3 days, of the July 6 to July 8 (both inclusive).

This situation is due to a rising temperatures up to 39-40 °C across the region, which could exceed the 41°C on Saturday, July 6; moderate southerly winds (NOTE: RISK OF STORM WITH VERY STRONG WIND GUSTS >100 KM/H), and low relative humidity, around 18 to 20% inland, 30 to 40% on the coast.

Both the on-duty Environmental Agents (region chiefs and environmental agents) and the Forestry Brigades and Helicopter Brigades will be on ALERT duty starting at 12:00 p.m. on July 6.

On the other hand, the Rapid Intervention Brigades (BIR) will carry out mobile surveillance tasks.

One is expected duration of 3 days, beginning to subside on Monday, July 8, with temperatures dropping slightly to 35°C, although the risk of storms remains.

Both the on-duty Environmental Agents (Region Chiefs and Environmental Agents) and the Forestry Brigades (BRIFOR) and Heliborne Brigades (BRIHELI) will also be on ALERT duty starting at 12:00 p.m. on July 6.

The surveillance booth network, taking into account the expected weather conditions, will adapt its communications and information flow based on any incidents and communication flow that may occur.

Civil protection teams will also conduct mobile surveillance in the area expected to be hit by the storm (Northwest-Altiplano), with the aim of detecting possible fire outbreaks early.
