"Following the change in criteria by the Regional Ministry of Finance and the adjustments made by the municipal government in 2012, we lost the tax office in our municipality. Today, after the signing of the agreement with the Tax Agency, the return of the office to our municipality is now possible," stated the Finance Councillor.

In the meeting held between the Finance Minister, Fernando de la Cierva and Isaac Sanz, director of the Tax Agency, with the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the Finance Councillor, Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Real, the agreement was signed by which the aforementioned state body will assume the executive collection in the municipality.

Municipal sources assure that this will lead to improved service delivery by increasing efficiency, facilitated by optimized internal communication within institutions. Furthermore, the Business Activities Tax will also be included in this revenue collection.

Finally, the aforementioned sources emphasize "the work carried out by the Cieza City Council to sign the agreement that will make the recovery of the tax collection office possible. The complacency of the 2011-2015 administration led to the loss of the office without any intervention. Today, Cieza is somewhat better equipped with services thanks to the work of this administration," states Martínez-Real.

The mayor has announced that this office will be located next to the Urban Planning Department as soon as the renovations of the old courthouse at the corner of the Convent are completed. "The Citizen Service Center planned for this landmark building should be operational, with a high degree of certainty, by October of this year," Pascual Lucas stated.
