Miriam Guardiola, president of the Cieza People's Party (Partido Popular) Board of Directors and currently a member of the Murcia Regional Assembly, will take office as a member of Congress, becoming the first Ciezan to hold such a position in the Cortes Generales.

Next Tuesday, at the start of the session, she will be sworn in as a Member of Parliament in the Lower House, replacing Luis Alberto Marín, whom the newly elected President of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has agreed to add to his government team as Minister of Finance and Business.

Miriam Guardiola faces this new stage "with the excitement and responsibility of representing the citizens of the Region of Murcia in the Cortes Generales." For Guardiola, "it will be an honor to defend the interests of the Region of Murcia and the rights of all the citizens of this region in the Congress of Deputies," assuming this new responsibility "with respect and a vocation for service, and with the dedication and commitment that President Fernando López Miras always demands of us."

The People's Party of Cieza has expressed its satisfaction at having a representative in the Congress of Deputies, as she will undoubtedly be a great defender of the interests of Cieza and the Region of Murcia, as she has done since entering politics as Minister of Tourism and Culture in 2018 under the current regional president, having also held the positions of deputy spokesperson for the regional government and spokesperson for the People's Party of the Region of Murcia.
