A total of 20,880 visitors enjoyed the various exhibitions, talks, and performances promoted by the City Council led by Podemos Cieza Councilor Pilar Martínez Ros.
Since 2012, the Siyâsa Museum has not had more than 20,000 visits, a figure surpassed in 2018 thanks to the museum's commitment to making it the cultural hub of Cieza. The total number of visitors recorded from May 12, 1999, to December 30, 2018, amounts to 361,701.
In addition to the extensive permanent exhibition, which showcases the history of Cieza from the Paleolithic to the present day, 29 temporary exhibitions were on display this year. Photography, painting, collage, school and association projects, nativity scenes, sacred art, and more made up the wide range of exhibits that have led the Siyâsa Museum to break its annual visitor record.
The months with the most visitors enjoying the museum's offerings were March, with 3,247, and December, with 4,517. This consolidates its inclusion in Cieza's tourist offerings within the Floración program and makes it a key destination during the Christmas season thanks to the comprehensive "December at the Siyasa Museum" program, which includes exhibitions, workshops, concerts, nativity scenes, and more.
In addition to the museum's recorded visits, the celebration of Museum Day on May 19 has also enjoyed great popularity and acceptance, reaching every corner of Cieza, taking art to the streets, and bringing it closer to citizens and visitors.
From the Department of Museums, led by Podemos Councilor Pilar Martínez, and the municipal staff responsible for the museum's smooth operation, "we appreciate the warm welcome given to all the initiatives carried out and encourage citizens and visitors to continue enjoying this Ciezano enclave and all its activities."
"We continue to work with even more enthusiasm and determination, if possible, to elevate Cieza's heritage, history, culture, and legacy to the level it deserves."
