Next Saturday, March 4th, and as has become tradition every second Saturday of Lent, the family of the Royal Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth will gather at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption to honor the memory of all those who have been part of it over the years with a solemn religious service in suffrage for the souls of the deceased brothers.

This year's ceremony will be even more moving, if possible, with the return of the brotherhood's titular image, Our Father Jesus of Nazareth, to the temple after more than ten months of absence. The absence of the work, carved by Ignacio Pinazo Martínez in 1942 for Cieza, is due to the cleaning and conservation process the image has undergone to repair the minor imperfections it suffered. The work was carried out in the workshops of local artist and restorer Bonifacio Pérez de Yébenes Ballesteros.

The image will be presented again to society during the Mass, which begins at 7:00 p.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. José Antonio García López, counselor of the brotherhood. During the Mass, the new finery for the floats of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth and Saint Mary Salome, made by José Rubio Pastor at the Virgen de los Reyes Workshops in Murcia, will also be presented and blessed. During the Mass, the new members who joined the Brotherhood between 2020 and 2022 will also be welcomed.

The presentation of both projects will be led by Mr. Joaquín Bernal Ganga, a graduate in Art History from the University of Murcia and a great lover of the world of brotherhoods. As a musical highlight, the entire Eucharist will be accompanied by music from the fantastic organ in the Basilica of the Assumption by our brother, Mr. Antonio Jesús Hernández Alba.
