The Department of Economic Development of the Cieza City Council is converting the old rural school of “The Oven"in a Tourist Information CenterThis project will be launched through a program for the long-term unemployed, while simultaneously contributing to further developing our peach industry and providing work for those who need it most.

Six long-term unemployed individuals will work for six months to further professionalize tourism in Cieza. Through grants from the Local Public Employment Program, included in the joint action program, the Cieza City Council has received a subsidy of €79,490.16 to carry out the project to adapt the “Tourist Information Center and Viewpoints: Flowering”.

The project consists of adapting the old rural school in the Horno area into a tourist information and service center, within the I FLORACIÓN Tourist Plan. In addition, the “Floración Viewpoints” will be created: Mirador del Olmico, Mirador de la Macetúa, Mirador del Horno, and Mirador de La Torre, all of them in Cieza.

Through this Program in Cieza, the aim is to subsidize the hiring of long-term unemployed workers for the execution of works and services of general and social interest within the framework of collaboration between the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the Local Corporations.

The total cost of the project amounts to €150,000, of which the Cieza City Council, through the Department of Employment and Economic Development, is financing €70,509.84. “Contributing to improved tourism figures will directly benefit hoteliers and shopkeepers, as well as enhance our image. We are excited about Cieza and will continue working to ensure that new projects continue to improve the lives of the residents of Cieza.”
