Cieza-born rider Antonio Fernández Giménez participated in the first round of the Spanish and European Supermotard Championship in the Off Road category (asphalt only) on April 21 and 22, where he finished in 5th place.

Since Friday, Cieza-born driver Antonio Fernández was able to lead the field just two-tenths off the top three. On Saturday, in qualifying, he qualified in 5th position for the starting grid with a time of 35.025s, just half a second behind the first-place finisher and two-tenths off the third.

The race was contested in two heats. In the first heat, he finished in 4th position, gaining a position after a good fight for 4th place. In the second heat, after a poor start, he managed to finish in 6th position after making up several places. Overall, he finished fifth.

Considering his mechanical inferiority, the Cieza-born rider was satisfied, knowing he had the potential to be at the top with a more competitive bike.

Antonio Fernández currently competes in the Spanish Championship and the Murcian Regional Championship, where he has won the first two races and is the championship leader.
