At around 3:15 a.m., a phone call was received at the police station reporting that a fight had broken out outside a well-known local pub and that a man was lying on the floor, apparently semi-conscious.

A patrol car quickly arrived at the scene and found a young man lying unresponsive on the ground, bleeding from his ear. One officer remained at the scene treating the victim, while the other officer, thanks to the help of the public, was informed that the alleged attacker had fled in a specific direction.

The officer embarked on a hectic chase in the patrol vehicle, intercepting the alleged perpetrator and, once the victim's injuries were identified and the severity of his injuries was known, he was arrested.

Information has been gathered about what happened; it appears the injured man had been involved in a fight and received a strong punch to the head, causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground, hitting himself violently.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Civil Guard, pending judicial review.

At the time of writing, the injured man remains in serious but stable condition and is being treated at the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia.
