Professionals from the Yecla City Council's Social Services Center team are joining the Parenting Support Group, which is being developed for the fourth consecutive year by the Cieza Social Services Center.

A psychologist and educator from the Yecla Family Program will attend sessions with mothers, fathers, and/or caregivers along with their babies, to learn about their experiences firsthand and implement a similar project in their municipality.

This is the second time this collaborative experience between municipalities has taken place regarding the Parenting Support Group. In the 2016-2017 academic year, professionals from Lorquí City Council attended to learn about the experience firsthand, which led to the launch of a similar project in Lorquí.

The increase in requests for assistance regarding conflictive situations in family relationships has been notable in recent years. The Social Welfare department has been assisting families seeking support during critical times such as their children's adolescence, as the parents themselves are also ill-prepared to navigate this difficult period for the entire family.

"The prevention of this family conflict has its roots in the moment a baby enters the family, establishing new forms of relationships between its members. Hence the importance of preventive measures in this area," municipal sources assure.

The Cieza Social Services Center is driving preventive projects regarding family care and support, and is spreading this best practice to other surrounding municipalities that are also concerned and committed to prevention in the family environment.
