Culture Councilor María Ramos has announced a varied carnival program aimed at all audiences. This year, a performance aimed at children will be included at the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium in Cieza.

CIEZA CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2018

Friday, February 9, Sing-alongs 'The Patio of My House', 5:30 p.m., organized by Kábila Al-Arifas with sponsorship from the Cieza City Council at the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium.

Saturday 10th, Grand Parade of Carnival Groups of Cieza, route: Paseo Don Antonio Salas, Paseo de José Antonio Camacho, Gran Vía, Camino de Murcia, Corner of the Convent, Paseo, Santa Ana Street and Plaza de España, where the competition will take place.

Sunday 11th and Monday 12th, musical animation in Plaza de España from 5 to 7 p.m.

Tuesday 13th, Party Afternoon, from 5 to 7 p.m. Musical entertainment, a batucada (a dance group), animation workshops, a photocall, a playground, balloon twisting, mask making, a parachute game, and archery (age-appropriate). There's also a costume contest with prizes for the best and most original costume, the best "mamarracho," and the best costume made from recycled materials. The event will include a hot chocolate party in Plaza de España.

IMPORTANT

To participate in the parade, registration can be made until February 8th at the Department of Culture, located on Calle Doña Adela S/N, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or by calling 868 960 300.

The groups that register and wish to be eligible for a prize must have a minimum of 15 members.

Any troupe that has not registered within the established deadline will not be allowed to participate in the competition.

At the end of the parade, the prizes will be awarded in Plaza de España. They will be: 1st place (€800), 2nd place (€500), 3rd place (€400), and 4th place (€300).

Prizes for the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) of Cieza schools valued at 500 and 400 euros, as well as 11 prizes of 300 euros each for the other participating Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) from preschool and primary schools.
