On Thursday the 26th, at 6:30 p.m., the Atalaya Club in Cieza will screen the film The Bookshop by director Isabel Coixet. Based on the novel of the same name by Penelope Fitzgerald, the film tells the story of a widow's quest to open a bookshop in an English village with little empathy for the need or passion for reading, for which she enlists the help of a little girl and a misanthropic old man.

The town's powerful, predators behind their aristocratic manners, will declare covert war on this sweet intruder, convinced that what she intends to sell could bring pleasure, knowledge, adventure, or balm to a few neighbors. Coixet describes all this with a delicacy and a tone close to goldsmithing.

Free admission until capacity is reached.
