Last competitive day for the Siyâsa teams before the Christmas break, a busy weekend with mixed results for the Cieza teams.
They opened this day on JUNIOR MEN In Murcia against Jesuitinas. The first match of the second phase of the competition. The Cieza team started the match with flying colors, with a high level of defense and success in offense, allowing them to take a 19-point lead, 24-5. However, a lack of concentration and accuracy, as well as the awakening of the home team, led them to squander this advantage and reach a close finish again. The final minutes were clearly in favor of the home team, who won the match 56-45.
Saturday afternoon and performance by the club's two children's teams. First, the girls from SAORÍN CHILDREN'S AND WOMEN'S CONSULTANCY They faced the leader, Wolves Molina. A tremendous match from the Cieza team, with a high level of play both in defense and offense, maintaining a level playing field throughout the match. Despite this, the quality of the Molina team and the greater depth of the bench allowed them to take a victory that in no way diminished the effort of the Cieza girls. The final score was 44-60.
Next, our BOYS' CHILDREN'S faced Bullas. An exciting and evenly matched game, with two teams of similar skill levels putting on a great show for the large crowd. The Cieza team dominated the first half, leading by 5 points, 28-23. However, nerves and errors in the final minutes led them to a 0-12 final score and a 35-44 defeat, which doesn't reflect the equal playing field between the two teams. The sportsmanship of both teams is noteworthy, undoubtedly the greatest victory at this age.
At that same time the MALE CADET traveled to the always difficult Beniel court. It was the first match of the second phase against a tough opponent. A high-level encounter between both teams, with tactical alternations between both coaches, where the advantage gained by the Cieza players was countered by partial results in favor of the home team. The level playing field and scoreline were only broken by the technical superiority and accuracy of the Cieza team, which secured a decisive victory by 63-76.
On Sunday morning the girls of SAORÍN FEMALE CADET ADVISORY They faced Infante in Murcia. The match had two clearly distinct halves: the first, with alternating scores for both teams; the second, with the Cieza players' disengagement in both defense and offense, eliminating any chance of winning the match and suffering a 73-45 defeat.
From the club, we want to wish all the people of Cieza a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with basketball.
