The Brotherhood of Santa Verónica of Cieza, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the Cieza City Council and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia (FAMU), is organizing the VIII San Silvestre "Ciudad de Cieza" Memorial Antonio Salvador Piñera López, next Sunday, December 31.
The start and finish line will once again be located at Esquina del Convento, where the junior races are scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m., with the full race starting at 6:10 p.m., covering a distance of approximately 6.5 km.

This year, the San Silvestre race will collaborate with AFEMCE.
"A race for solidarity." This idea was born eight years ago, and it has become the most popular race held. This year, one euro from each registration will benefit Afemce Cieza. There is also a "Dorsal 0" for those who cannot participate and wish to contribute. The money raised will go towards their SChild and Adolescent Care Service «CLICK».
Race numbers can be collected on the day of the race, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Esquina del Convento, and from 3:30 p.m. until half an hour before the start of the race at the same location. Please remember that you must show your ID or proof of identity to collect them. In the case of the absolute race, trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, as well as a ham for the top finisher overall (both men's and women's).
A ham will also be awarded to the best costume, while the best costumed group will receive a gift of three assorted cases of wine and two gifts of traditional artisanal products. The first place winner in each category will receive a gift of traditional artisanal products, a Christmas basket for the second place winner in each category, and a gift of wine for the third place winner in each category. In the case of participatory races, there will be medals for all participants, as well as a special medal/trophy for the first, second, and third place winners in each category.
