This Sunday, November 2nd at 12:00 pm, the “XXVII Cieza City Music Festival” will take place, an event that the municipal band organizes year after year with great affection, effort and dedication.

In this edition we will have the Jumilla Association of Friends of Music of Jumilla (AJAM) as a guest band to experience a morning full of emotions and music.

The Jumilla Friends of Music Association (AJAM) was founded in 1981. Once established, a Music School was created, and the Association's Band was formed with the students trained there. Its first director was the Jumilla composer Julián Santos Carrión, who was succeeded in 1982 by José Bacigalupe Serrano. From 1987 to 1996, Antonio Milán Juan directed the band, followed by Sergio Fernández Diez-Picazo in 1997, José Antonio Arce Corbalán in 1998, and Zourab Kala from 1999 to 2004. He was succeeded by Julián Andreo Jiménez until November 2008, and then by Mario Ortuño Gelardo until November 2015. Since then, the AJAM band has been directed by Angel Hernández Azorín.

It currently has a staff of 75 musicians, most of them trained at our Music School and later at the professional music conservatory of
Jumilla.
