The photographic exhibition MIRALVALLE. A look at the cultural landscape of the Ricote Valley It shows the result of the interaction between population and natural environment in this impressive region in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, which is comparable to some of the landscapes of North Africa. It does so through the artistic eye of photographer Valricotí. Wayna Miñano Through 38 beautiful snapshots that show the most characteristic elements of the Ricote Valley's cultural landscape: the Segura River, traditional agricultural land and its resulting villages, hydraulic systems with lifting devices guided by tireless farmers, medieval and obsolete fortresses guarding the surrounding productive space, and new water uses from the last century; a landscape picture punctuated by a still-present protagonist: the date palm.

Organized by the Cultural Association "La Carraila" and "Caramucel, Nature and History," the photography exhibition MIRALVALLE, by Wayna Miñano, a native of Ricote, is part of the "Living Legacy" cultural-ecomuseum project. This collection is subsidized by the Department of Culture of the Abarán City Council and sponsored by the "Yuse Banegas" Cultural Trust. Curated by Jesús Joaquín López Moreno, its objective is to promote the cultural landscape of the Ricote Valley among its residents and outsiders, as well as in exhibition spaces in other latitudes.

The beauty of the Ricote Valley and the importance of its cultural and natural assets allow this region to have state recognition by being included in the National Cultural Landscape Plan of the Ministry of Culture. The CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF THE RICOTE VALLEY, considered one of the main water landscapes in Spain, is made up of various places connected by the Segura River, whose winding course through this region of the Region of Murcia is 22 kilometers.

It extends between Bolvax (Cieza) and Cabezo del Tío Pío (Archena), uniting the municipalities of Cieza, Abarán, Blanca, Ricote, Ojós, Ulea, Villanueva del Río Segura, and Archena. In a semi-arid subtropical Mediterranean climate, its landscape can be defined as the result of the use of hydraulic irrigation systems by the associated population over the last millennium. It is based on the continuous contrast created by the narrow, winding river, the green, narrow, terraced orchards, and the steep, arid mountains; all embraced by the sunny and shady slopes of its mountain ranges.

WAYNA MIÑANO

Multifaceted and artistic, he encountered light and its miracles while working on theater sets, as he acknowledges and recalls from his cultural experience in England's Soho. His subsequent approach to digital photography was a "revealing" event that helped him overcome his financial limitations, and he began to see how to better redirect and channel his creativity. This has allowed him to participate in his inner world, which he brings out in his particular way of seeing objects and capturing them in a two-dimensional space. He exercises a unique perspective on the world in search of cryptic beauty, patterns in chaos, the unnoticed or unseen. Mysterious forms and impossible compositions are revealed to him within the immediate, the everyday, even the disposable.

Wayna, largely overlooked on regional circuits, stands out for his international recognition, both in professional and semi-professional photography associations and in the social circles of global minimalism photography. His award-winning images stand out for their exemplary artistic flair, competing with photographers from around the world, from America to Japan, and even Europe. Dozens of awards and recognitions demonstrate this artistic prowess. All of this, coupled with personal congratulations from renowned international photographers and the use of many of these photos on his personal platforms, attests to the level and recognition of this artist's efforts to continue learning. PURCHASE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE "MIRALVALLE" EXHIBITION BY REQUESTING THEM FROM THE AUTHOR (waynamm1@gmail.com).
